Streaks & pressure

Do you keep the putts dropping, and what happens right after you miss one?

What it measures

  • It reads your putts in the order you hit them. Current streak and longest streak count holed putts in a row.
  • Bounce-back is your make rate on the very next putt after a miss, set against your overall make rate.
  • Bounce-back needs 10 misses followed by another putt, and a difference of at least 10 points, before it is called good or bad.

How it helps you

Make rate treats every putt the same. This is the one number that shows what a miss does to the next putt.

It tells you what kind of practice you need: pressure and routine, or simply harder putts.

Drills behind this insight

Record any of these in the app and this insight updates when you save the session.

Only drills with one independent putt per ball count. Putting Map and No More 3 Putts are left out, because the putt after a miss there is the same putt from closer in, which would inflate bounce-back.

Examples, and what the coach says

Example 1

Misses come in clusters

120 putts overall. The strip shows the 30 putts of the latest session.

Longest streak

from 120 putts
Make rate
58 %

Bounce-back
38 %

Latest session, in the order you hit them
Holed Missed

How to read it

  • Filled dots are holed putts and empty dots are misses. Read it left to right, like a scorecard.
  • The misses sit next to each other instead of being spread out.
  • Bounce-back confirms it: 38 % after a miss against 58 % normally, a drop of 20 points.
AI coachFocus: The putt after a miss

Straight after a miss you hole 38 %, against 58 % normally. Your stroke is good enough for 58 %, so the drop comes from what happens between putts. That is where your runs end.

Next session: Practise the putt after a miss on purpose. Pressure Chain restarts the chain when you miss, so every putt carries weight. Take the same routine on every ball, above all after a miss.

Example 2

A miss does not bother you

150 putts overall. The strip shows the latest 30.

Longest streak
11
from 150 putts
Make rate
60 %
all putts
Bounce-back
72 %
on the putt after a miss
Latest session, in the order you hit them
Holed Missed

How to read it

  • Misses here stand alone, almost always followed by a holed putt.
  • Bounce-back of 72 % is above the 60 % overall, by 12 points.
  • A number above your overall rate is not magic. It means your focus sharpens after a miss.
AI coachFocus: Add difficulty, not pressure

Straight after a miss you hole 72 %, better than your usual 60 %. Pressure is not your problem, so a pressure drill would not teach you much.

Next session: Move a rung further back. Raise the Ladder Drill one difficulty level, or add more long putts with Stupid 9.

All numbers here are illustrative sample data, and the coach notes show the kind of advice you get. In the app, the AI coach reads all your putting data and gives you one focus with its reasoning, based on your own sessions. Each chart also has a one-line takeaway of its own.
