Ladder Drill
Putt to targets between 5 ft and 30 ft based on difficulty, scoring points for distance control.
Difficulty levels
Setup & execution
Place 5 tees in a straight line toward the hole. Hit one putt from each tee, starting at the closest and moving back. Speed control is key on the longer stations. Always try to roll the ball at least to the hole — putts that fall short have no chance.
Goal
Farther successful putts earn 2 extra reward points per distinct distance rank, and consecutive holed putts add an escalating streak bonus, capped at a fifth of the maximum score. Your pass target still uses the original flat outcome values.
Tour context
PGA Tour make rates drop from ~75% at 5 ft to ~13% at 20 ft. Scoring 2/5 across this range is a genuine challenge for mid-handicap players.
Scoring options
Pick how you are rewarded. Each option records different outcomes and feeds different insights.
Classic
In or out. A miss costs you nothing.
Points
Leaving it short hurts twice as much as missing sideways.
Never Short
Come up short and you lose a point.
