Hole scores

How do your holes break down: chip-ins, up-and-downs or extra strokes?

What it measures

  • Each hole of a Par 18 round goes into one of three groups: holed in 1, holed in 2, or holed in 3 or more.
  • You see the mix for your latest round and for all rounds together, with the share of each group.

How it helps you

Two rounds with the same total can be very different. One chip-in hides two extra strokes.

Your 3+ holes are where you lost strokes. Fixing them takes less practice than looking for more chip-ins.

Examples, and what the coach says

Example 1

Too many holes in three

Latest round of 9 holes against all 6 rounds, 54 holes.

3 (33 %)
All rounds
Holed in 1
3 (6 %)
Holed in 2
27 (50 %)
Holed in 3+
24 (44 %)

How to read it

  • The middle segment, holed in 2, is par. You want that to be the largest.
  • Across all rounds, 24 of 54 holes took 3 strokes or more, which is 44 %.
  • The latest round is better than the total, with 3 of 9, or 33 %.
AI coachFocus: Turn threes into twos

44 % of your holes across all rounds took three or more strokes, and your latest round has that down to 33 %. Each of those is one stroke over par, so this is your quickest route to 18.

Next session: Check your Ring ladder and Make rate to see which part fails on those holes. If the chip is good and the putt misses, spend your next session at 6 ft.

Example 2

Solid, with few chip-ins

Latest round of 9 holes against all 5 rounds, 45 holes.

All rounds
Holed in 1
2 (4 %)
Holed in 2
37 (82 %)
Holed in 3+
6 (13 %)

How to read it

  • 37 of 45 holes were played in exactly par.
  • Very few 3+ holes, which is what a reliable short game looks like.
  • Chip-ins are rare for everyone, so do not chase them. They come from good chips.
AI coachFocus: Add difficulty

You finish 82 % of your holes in exactly 2 strokes, and very few in 3 or more. That is a strong, reliable short game, and this setup has stopped testing you.

Next session: Move to a harder level of Par 18, with longer positions and tougher lies. You should expect the 3+ segment to grow at first.
