First Tee Ready30-Minute Practice Session Before a Round
Use the last 30 minutes before a round to find your speed and your start line, not to fix your swing. Start on the putting green with lag putts to test the speed of today's greens and a putting ladder, then go to the range: fifteen irons and ten drivers show your miss today before you walk to the first tee. Play every drill at Easy: the goal is to feel ready on the first tee, not to pass a hard test.

Who it’s for
- Golfers who arrive at the course with 30 minutes to spare.
- Golfers who start rounds with a three-putt or a tee shot out of play.
- Anyone who wants the same warm-up before every round.
The problem
Most players either rush from the car to the first tee or spend the half hour before a round trying to fix their swing on the range. Either way the first holes are where the three-putts and the tee shots out of play happen, because nobody checked the speed of the greens or the miss of the day.
The goal
Start every round knowing the pace of today's greens and which side your irons and driver miss on, and play the first six holes without a three-putt.
How to use this plan
- 01
Plan the session before you start
Read the week’s goal and the session on your phone or the printout before you leave home, and pack what the drills need: tees, alignment sticks, a towel and enough balls.
- 02
Warm up before every station
Give every station about 10 minutes before its first scored drill, including the putting green. Nobody should putt for score straight from the car.
- 03
Short game first, always in the same order
Putting, then chipping and bunker, then approach shots, then the tee. Do not jump back and forth: the order is what makes your scores comparable from week to week.
- 04
One ball, one target, one routine
Keep the bucket a few steps behind you and walk back for every ball. Pick a target and go through your routine on every scored shot, as you would on the course.
- 05
Write down every score
A drill without a score is just hitting balls. Write each result in the Your result box or record it in the Strenvio app.
- 06
Move up only when you pass
Pass a drill before you play it at the next level. If you miss the target twice, stay at that level for another week; the plan still works.
- 07
End with a short review
Two lines after each session: what got better, and what to watch next time.
How scoring works
- The level sets the drill: the distances, the targets and how many balls. Every drill row links to the setup of its level.
- The scoring option sets the game: what each ball is worth and the pass mark. The plan picks one for every drill, from Classic (in or out) to the strict ones where a short or fat shot costs a point.
- Write down every ball, add up the points and compare with the pass mark. A few drills count differently, such as your longest run or your strokes; their rule says so.
- The Strenvio app scores the same games and adds bonus points for farther stations and streaks. The pass marks here use the base points, so pass or fail is the same on paper and in the app.
The session
This session is your warm-up, so it has no separate warm-ups of its own. Start on the putting green with long putts for pace only, then go to the range: irons first, the driver last, so you walk to the first tee straight from the range.

Click a level or a scoring option to open the drill at that level: the setup, the target and every game. Pass a drill at its level before you move up; if you miss it twice, stay at that level for another week. Premium drills, levels and scoring options need a paid plan in the app; their setup and scoring are free to read and play on paper.
Why these drills
- No More 3 Putts!
- Long putts first: they test the speed of today’s greens before anything else.
- Ladder Drill
- One putt from each distance sets your speed for short and medium putts.
- Iron Dispersion
- Fifteen irons to three targets warm up your swing and show which side your irons miss on today.
- Driver Dispersion
- Ten drivers show your miss for the day, so you know which side of the fairway to aim at.
How to measure your progress
- Note how many irons and drivers finish inside the corridor before each round, and compare it with how many greens and fairways you hit.
- Count your three-putts on the first six holes. The lag putts before the round are meant to bring that number down.
