Tee Ball

Find a good lie two steps off the green. Place tees in a line from 2 yd to 14 yd from the front of the green, each tee 2 yd further out. Chip one ball to each tee and score by where the ball finishes, not by whether you strike the tee. Play the full ladder with two wedges — 28 shots in all.

Setup & execution

Find a good lie two steps off the green. Place seven tees in a line from 2 yd to 14 yd from the front edge, each tee 2 yd further out. Hit one chip to each tee in order, then repeat the full ladder with the same wedge. Change wedges only after both rounds are complete. Judge every shot on where the ball stops, not on how it looked.

Goal

A ball that comes to rest within 3 ft of the tee scores as a hit; anything inside 6 ft counts as a near miss. Farther tees add 4 extra reward points per distinct distance rank, while your pass target still uses the original flat outcome values — finish 5 or more of 14 chips inside 3 ft to pass. Track misses by direction so you can separate carry-distance errors from face-control errors.

Tour context

Shot Scope puts mean proximity from inside 50 yd at 18 ft for a 15-handicap. Finishing 5 of 14 chips inside 3 ft across 2 yd to 14 yd is the proximity control that turns two-shot recoveries into one-putt chances.

Scoring options

Pick how you are rewarded. Each option records different outcomes and feeds different insights.

  • Classic

You hit the tee or you don't. A miss costs you nothing.

  • Points

The tee pays triple, a near miss still scores, short hurts most.

  • Never Short

Come up short and you lose a point. Other misses are free.
