Putting Map
Place 8 tees around the hole at 10 ft. Hole each position - misses move the tee 1 ft closer, revealing your directional strengths and weaknesses.
Difficulty levels
Setup & execution
Place 8 tees at 45° intervals around the hole — 12, 1:30, 3, 4:30, 6, 7:30, 9, and 10:30 o'clock — each at 10 ft. Putt each station in clockwise order. If you hole the putt, press that tee into the ground. If you miss, move the tee 1 ft closer and continue to the next station. A station pays the step it was holed from: 10 points from the outermost step down to 1 from the nearest. Missing costs no points on its own — it simply moves the tee in, so the station is worth less when it finally drops. Maximum 80.
Goal
Score 41 points or more — an average of 5 per station. This means you should hole each position from 5 ft or farther.
Tour context
Scoring 41 means your tee rarely drops below 5 ft. PGA Tour players typically finish above 65 at 10 ft. Closing the gap is what structured short-game practice is all about.
